The Flowers of War Trailer

You may watch below the first official movie trailer of The Flowers of War:

I'm pretty sure it's going to be an intense movie, but there's something about the way this trailer is cut that feels a bit weak... Anyway, definitely want to watch the film, if only for Christian Bale.

The Flowers of War Movie

Update - The movie is now titled "The Flowers of War".

The 13 Flowers of Nanjing movie - The 13 Women of Nanjing filmThe 13 Flowers of Nanjing (previously titled Nanjing Heroes) is an epic period war drama movie based on the novel "The 13 Women of Nanjing" by Chinese writer Geling Yan. The film will be directed by Yimou Zhang based on a screenplay by Heng Liu. The film is starring Actor Christian Bale: he will play an American priest called John who helps a great number of Chinese escape certain death during the Nanjing Massacre. Filming started this January so the film likely get released sometime in 2012.

"The movie 13 Flowers of Nanjing is set in 1937 in Nanjing, China during Sino-Japanese war, where a few brave refugees find sanctuary in a Church compound. The group, thrown together by the terrible chaos of war, risks their lives for the Church's school children as they struggle to survive the violence and persecution brought on by the violent invasion of the city. Through tremendous adversity, heroism presents itself among the least likely individuals as they bravely navigate their treacherous surroundings to try and save themselves and each other."

Yet another take on the Nanjing Massacre (a sad event during which Japanese soldiers killed hundreds of thousands of Chinese civilians and soldiers, and raped thousands of women after the capture of the city of Nanjing). There have been many movies about it... But if Christian bale is on board you can definitely sign me up for the 13 Flowers of Nanjing movie!

Anyway, more details about the movie 13 Flowers of Nanjing soon!
